News SPACES Awards 2016 – Winners

We are pleased to announce the winners of this year’s SPACES Awards (incorporating SCALA Civic Building of the Year Awards). The Awards Ceremony was held at the Manchester Victoria and Albert Hotel on Friday 4th November 2016.

For the Civic Building of the Year Awards, sponsored by NPS Group, the awards went to

  • The Westgate School, Winchester (joint Winners)
  • Birmingham New Street Station (joint Winners)
  • Lairdsland Primary School (Winner – Education Category)
  • Colchester Park and Ride (Winner – Small Building)
  • Commemorating Gallipolli HMS M3 (Winner – Heritage Category).
  • FC United of Manchester Stadium (Highly commended)
  • UTC@MEDIACITYUK, Salford Quays, (Highly commended)

For the Surveying Excellence Awards the award went to

  • Oakwood Clock Refurbishment (Winner)
  • Shire Hall, Chelmsford (Highly Commended)
  • Fletton House, Oundle, Northamptonshire (Highly Commended)

For the Engineering Innovation Award the awards went to

  • Birmingham New Street Station (Winner)
  • Hampshire County Council’s SCOLA Reclad Programme (Highly Commended)

For the Site Manager of the Year award the awards went to

  • Tony Northcott, Kier Construction, for Exeter St Leonards Primary School (Winner)
  • Farrans Waste Transfer Station Team, Mark Kendal, Andrew Purdy, Paul Shoebridge and Jason Starling (Highly Commended)
