The building makes a bold statement on the high street, with stepped planes in a strong palette of colours and an emphasis on transparency to welcome the community. Its combination of flexible, informal spaces for activities, learning and events, with the multi-level library and local museum has been effectively planned, making it an excellent resource for all sectors of the community. The well considered use of materials and natural light creates an environment to lift the spirits.
