This development provides new living accommodation for 59 people at this well established outdoor education centre. The design takes advantage of the extremely challenging sloping site, The simply detailed timber cladding, re-use of slate from the site’s excavations and green roof contributes to its success in blending in with the woodland surroundings. A particular feature of the design is accessibility and many of the rooms will accommodate wheel chair users and provide assisted bathing and toilet facilities. The design incorporates a high level of environmental sustainability.
