Study Day 2016 Workshop – BB101 – Ventilation in School Buildings

Summary

The new requirements for Ventilation, thermal comfort and indoor air quality will be the subject of a Public Consultation on the Revised BB101 after the EU referendum. The experience of piloting the proposed new requirements in the recent PSBP schools will be discussed.

Case studies covering the range of ventilation solutions adopted in PSBP schools will be presented. The particular requirements of specialist spaces will be discussed. The workshop will be an opportunity for delegates to discuss the pros and cons of different solutions.

Biography

Richard has worked in the Department for Education and the Education Funding Agency since 1987. He is a Chartered Engineer and Member of Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers.

He is responsible for producing Environmental Guidelines for the Design of Schools.

He will give an overview of the proposed BB101 requirements for ventilation thermal comfort and indoor air quality and show some examples of the heating and ventilation solutions seen in recent Priority Schools Building Programme schools
