Lucy Watson, Design Advisor, Education Funding Agency

Summary

BB104 which was published at the end of 2015 sets out non-statutory area guidelines for special schools, special resourced provision on mainstream sites and alternative provision. It is a ‘sister’ document to BB103 ‘Area guidelines for mainstream schools’ and supersedes the recommended areas in BB102 ‘Designing for disabled children and children with special educational needs’.

The workshop will outline the principles behind the guidance and it will be an opportunity to hear from delegates about their experiences of building for special needs.
