COVID Academy with CIBSE Northwest

CIBSE Northwest have invited SPACES members to attend their Covid Academy during lunchtimes (12:30-13:30) week beginning 18th January 2021.

The recent pandemic has highlighted a number of issues and blind spots in our building stock particularly around ventilation and how they can be adapted and redesigned to improve indoor air quality and help stop the spread of bacteria and viruses.

The systems are often complex and to cover all the necessary elements in one session would result in almost a day non-stop. To that end, CIBSE NW have put together a series of shortened lunchtime CPD sessions that aim to cover the essentials of what can be done to make buildings and ventilation systems more COVID compliant.

There will be a series of five online sessions aimed at Building Services covering all aspects of infection control, the five topics will be:

  • Monday 18th January 2021 – General guidance around COVID-19 and infection control, presented by Frank Mills (CIBSE Healthcare).
  • Tuesday 19th January 2021 – UV-C Guidance & Plasma filtration systems, presented by Sophie Parry (Zumtobel Group) and James Price (Plasma clean)
  • Wednesday 20th January 2021 – Indoor air quality, presented by Jonathon Hunter (SAV Group)
  • Thursday 21st January 2021 – Ventilation maintenance, presented by George Friend (Breathe VSS) & Jack Friend (Hasman)
  • Friday 22nd January 2021 – Traditional air filtration and wider ventilation system design, presented by Peter Dyment (Camfil) & James Gafford (ECEX)
