SPACES AGM 3rd October 2019

Dear Members

The Annual General Meeting and Technical Presentation, will be held on Thursday 3rd October 2019 at Autodesk Small Heath Business Park, Talbot Way, Birmingham, B10 0HJ. You can download a copy of the agenda and papers here. and the 2018-19 accounts here.

Following changes to membership categories, and allowing those working in the public sector (with a gov.uk email address) free membership, it has been required to make some changes to the By-Laws as well as some other updates, these were approved by the Board on the 17th May, and will require ratifying at the AGM. You can download a copy of the By-Laws here. If you wish to view the 2015 version of the By-Laws you can do so here.

The following positions are being elected at the AGM
• Scrutiny Director – Mark Dunne is currently co-opted by the board and has agreed to stand
• Director of Finance – Position Vacant
• Membership – North  – Position Vacant
• Membership – South  – Position Vacant
• Marketing and Communication – Paul Inch is currently co-opted by the board and has agreed to stand
• Technical  – Position Vacant
• Events (Study Day) – Greg Keeling
• Events (Awards and Yearbook) – James Bourne

If you wish to vote by proxy on either the By-Laws or the 2018-19 accounts, you can do so by downloading the form (word or pdf) and completing and returning as per the instructions enclosed.

We thank Nick Jakes for his work with the Midlands Hub and James Bourne for his work as Head of Profession – Engineering.

The Heads of Profession and Hub Coordinators are Board nominated for a three year term. There are two positions vacant for HoPs and six positions vacant in the hubs:
i. Head of Profession – Architecture – Vacant
ii. Head of Profession – Project Management – Vacant
iii. Hub Coordinator Southeast – Vacant
iv. Hub Coordinator Midlands – Vacant
v. Hub Coordinator Northeast – Vacant
vi. Hub Coordinator Northwest – Vacant
vii. Hub Coordinator Wales – Vacant
viii. Hub Coordinator Scotland – Vacant

The AGM will be held within the Technical Presentation Day. We are really pleased that this will be held at Autodesk Office in Birmingham. The day will include a tour of the 3D Factory and a presentation on ‘Future of making’ and Industry Trends. The draft agenda for the day will be:
10:00 – 10:30 – Arrival and refreshments
10:30 – 10:45 – Welcome and get ready for the tours
10:45 – 11:45 – Tours
11:45 – 12:30 – AGM
12:30 – 13:15 – Lunch and networking
13:15 – 14:30 – ‘Future of making’ and industry trends
14:30 – 15:00 – Closing
