SPACES Awards and Yearbook

2016 sees the first ever SPACES Awards event taking place in November 2016 along with the publication of the first SPACES Yearbook. As well as incorporating the Civic Building of the Year Awards and SCALA Yearbook which have been running successfully for many years, a number of new award categories have been introduced to reflect the multi-disciplinary nature of SPACES. The new categories include Building Surveying, Building Services Engineering and Contracting and all categories are listed in full below.

The Yearbook will continue to be produced every Autumn to showcase the variety of projects that public funding produces along with the innovation and people involved in delivering them. The objective being to promote the development of high quality Public Buildings through the formal recognition of excellence in design, refurbishment and construction.

Entry is free for all awards and are very simple to enter.

Closing date for entries into the Innovation, Surveying and Site Managers has been extended until the 17th June 2016. The Civic Building of the Year Awards has now closed.

Please email your completed submission form and the relevant supporting documentation/pictures for the category applied for.

Process – Schemes for publication in the Yearbook are selected at a Panel meeting in February. The named contact for successful schemes will then be contacted by the Building Awards Team. All submissions will be considered for one of the Awards and a short list drawn up based on the photos and/or documentation provided. The shortlisted applicants will be contacted for further details and Panel members will visit any shortlisted projects if required. Following completion of the visits and review of further details, the results will be analysed and judged against set criteria.
